Wasser und Umwelt - Monitoring

Monitoring serves as surveillance of changes in groundwater, which may occur due to the use of geothermal energy, influences of construction, pumping of groundwater and many other (anthropogenic) applications.

Monitoring

According to the EU Water Framework Directive, monitoring includes the collection and interpretation of data for the
• Assessment of the status of surface waters and groundwater (water quality and quantity)
• Assessment of long-term natural and anthropogenic trends and detection in change of state (Isotope monitoring)
• Calculation of the long-term mean annual groundwater recharge
• Assessment of the interactions between groundwater and surface water
• Establishment of management and action plans
